'Feel the difference' horsemanship - Colin Byron

Horse education and training

Colin Byron grew up droving cattle on horseback in remote NSW. His own father was known for his horsemanship skills as they spent months on horseback at a time. From a young age Colin competed in rodeo, then started training horses. He discovered the line of horsemanship introduced by Tom and Bill Dorrance, and sourced his own mentors over the years. Colin has developed his own unique style and way of teaching.

Colin has successfully competed in campdrafting, cutting, polocrosse, rodeo and stockman’s challenges. He has represented NSW in polocrosse, and later drew a following from polocrosse competitors in SA and Vic, who sourced him to start and train their horses.
More recently, he has been starting campdrafters and race horses in Northern NSW, and also has horses travelling with him while he trains and campaigns clients’ horses (mostly camp drafters and cutters).

Colin teaches the fundamentals of good horsemanship to both horse and rider. He offers a range of services, from horse breaking, private lessons to re-education of problem horses.
